We enrolled Tyler in a 10 week swimming class. :) With the weather getting hotter, it should be a great addition to our Sunday. He was a bit scared this first time ... but I'm sure he will enjoy it more soon. Here he is (mommy has to be there, since this is a mommy & me class)

9 Month Pics
Here are some 9 month pictures. Tyler outgrew his infant tub, so we got him a cool rubber ducky! We also had to lower his crib and ... of course he also got more toys!
Back to normal
I am happy to say that this ear infection is now behind us. Tyler had a great week and everything was good at his follow up appointment on Friday (June 20th). He is much happier and back to his normal cheerful self.
He still loves talking to anyone who will listen. He says sounds like ba ba, na na ... and some others we just can't make out. We haven't heard ma ma or da da yet, but we are practicing. He's getting better at holding his bottle, slowly learning how to use a sippy cup, slowly learning how to feed himself finger foods, and now squeals like a pig when we wants our attention. It was cute at first, now the sound is a bit much. LOL! Even so ... we are enjoying watching him learn and grow.

And the saga continues ....
Okay so I don't know how this happened so quickly, but since Tyler's appointment on the 6th ... so much has happened. Here's a quick break down.
June 7-8 - Tyler was a little fussier than normal. Threw up some juice. Had a runny nose. Sleeping very poorly compared to before. He was almost sleeping through the night ... but now he wakes up several times crying.
June 9 - Went to daycare and ended up with a fever of 101.8 and got sent home. Mommy took him to the doctor to find out he has an EAR INFECTION! Different medicine this time. (an amoxicillin mix, twice a day for 10 days). He took it and his fever went down and all seemed well. Still a rather long night.
June 10 - Had a little trouble getting medicine in Tyler. Tastes pretty bad (mommy tried it). It takes both mommy and daddy to give it to him. Forcefully making him take it ... leads him to gag and spit it all up. No fever and since ear infections aren't contagious he went to daycare. Stayed at daycare the entire day, but had a rough day. Wasn't his usual self. (they said). Fussy fussy fussy ... slight fever at night. Appetite is less. Won't drink his bottle, but will take some solid foods. Had a hard time with the medicine again, this time he forcefully threw up. Another long night.
June 11 - still had a slight fever in the morning. Refuses to take medicine. We tried mixing it in his food, but he knows better! Plus he still won't drink or eat much. Mommy WFH to take care of Tyler. She went back to the pharmacy to add more flavoring to the medicine. Tyler still won't take it. He's probably getting less than half of what he should be. (but at least he didn't spit up or throw up) Fever gone. He's been eating mostly puffs, but at least that's something. Another long night.
June 12 - No fever and seemed in a bit better mood. Gave as much medicine as we could in his milk and food. Tried daycare -- mommy had a few things she needed to do at work. After feeding him breakfast @ daycare he threw up. Mommy went to get him and took him back to the doctor. Ear infection getting worse, probably since he isn't taking his full dose of medicine. New plan ... no more oral medicine. Injection time. 2 injections 1 in each leg. Tyler CRIES a lot. At home, mommy and daddy need to run the shower really hot and let Tyler sit in the steam for a good 10 minutes per doctor orders. This is to help relieve some of the pressure on his ears which causes the pain. In addition, he also prescribed an ear drop which acts like an anesthesia to also help with the pain. Mommy was very excited about this, as she was not happy seeing Tyler in pain. As if things weren't hard enough ... these stupid drops were like honey! We had to hold Tyler on his side for a good few minutes to get them to seep in his ear. He screamed the entire time! And as you can probably guess ... yet another long night.
June 13 - Mommy takes off from work to take care of Tyler. Another doctor's appointment for the next dose via shots. Somehow Tyler has lost a pound. He is also quite needy and wants constant attention. Luckily mommy is here to do just that. They play together, run a few errands, and nap. Used ear drops and did another steam. Overall, it was a pretty good day. Night, still not very good. :(
June 14 - Weekend is here. Daddy and mommy both caring for Tyler. He seems to be doing A LOT better. Eating a little more. Back to the doctor for another set of shots. He gained a few oz back. :) Still doing drops and steaming. Things are starting to look up again.
June 15 - Father's day! Tyler helps mommy make breakfast in bed for daddy. Then its offer to the doctor for the last day of shots. After a long nap ... Tyler is in a MUCH better mood. He started drinking his bottles and eating like normal today. Mommy and daddy were really happy! Continuing with steaming ... drops not needed anymore.
WHEW! Like I said, A LOT has happened. Let's all hope, this one is now behind us.

9 month check up
Took Tyler for his 9 month check up the other Friday (June 6th). He is doing well. Finally in the 25% for weight in at 8lbs and 10 oz. Doc says he is more brain then belly since his head right on track. hehe
No shots at this check up, just a prick on his toe to get blood for an anemia test. Also a written evaluation to check for any early signs of autism. Passed with flying colors. :)

Carpet
This is not 100% related to Tyler, but it was something done for Tyler ... so I figured it was worth mentioning. For those of you who don't know ... our entire downstairs flooring is/was ceramic tile, while upstairs is bamboo wood. Both, rather hard for a baby learning to crawl. Last weekend we got 2 pieces of carpet made and put it in our living room and family room. It came out pretty nice. (Don't mind the mess, we are still cleaning!)

Cars PJs
Mommy bought Tyler a new pair of PJs. For some reason he fits the size 12 months. Here he is wearing them and talking early early in the morning.

Baby Einstein Exersaucer
Mommy's co-worker's are so cool! We got a free Baby Einstein Exersaucer for Tyler. Now we have one for up stairs AND one for downstairs. He was very very excited to play in it tonight.

Cherry Picking
We took Tyler up to Brentwood to pick cherries. He was happy to be outside and enjoyed mommy strolling and carrying him around. Poor daddy was the one stuck picking the yummy cherries. Rainier for $2.00 a lb and Bing for $1.50 a lb. Not bad, I say!
Chuck E Cheese
Tyler's first Chuck E Cheese was for Andrew's 3rd birthday! He's a bit young to enjoy it just yet, but mommy and daddy surely had fun. LOL, just joking. We made sure Tyler enjoyed himself.
