In the middle ...

I was very relieved when the morning sickness finally came to an end at about 5 months. We (more so me than Brad) slowly started spreading the news, since we were now well into our 2nd trimester and knew the gender of the baby. (it's a boy, if you haven't figured it out yet :P)

I can safely say that I enjoyed my 2nd trimester the most. I was no longer sick nor tired. I actually felt good, almost back to normal good. My belly was barely a bump, but I felt happy to be pregnant.

Even if I was barely showing, my regular clothes were getting a bit snug and uncomfortable. As much as I didn't want to have to buy new ones in bigger sizes, no less, I bit the bullet and went shopping. I actually kind of lucked out to start with. Empire waisted clothes were "in" and those were perfect to accommodate my soon to be growing belly. I was able to get away buying regular tops in bigger sizes. The only real maternity clothes I initially bought were pants. I tested out the waters at a few stores: GAP, Old Navy, Maternity Motherhood, and Target and was very impressed at the variety of styles available out there. The one thing I wasn't too keen on were the prices. Why would I want to spend $30.00 on pants I would only wear for a few months, if that. I wasn't sure how often I would need to buy new ones. It was ridiculous! Even so, I bought a few pairs anyway. *sigh*

Now on to the FUN part. Shopping for baby gear! Boy, is it fun to buy baby clothes! They are so tiny and cute! I probably went a big overboard at first. In fact, I think we are all set on clothes for newborn and 0 - 3 months. A baby can't have too many onesies, right? :P

The rest of the baby necessities were a bit more challenging. Even with the ample amounts of of information on the Internet, I found myself confused and overwhelmed by all of the choices. Luckily, Babies R Us has a checklist one can use to start baby shopping. With no where else to turn, I started with that and went from there. A few hundred reviews later, viola ... I had a list of things I "think" I wanted to get for our baby.

Can you tell I'm expecting? :P
