Mommy and daddy's crazy schedule finally ended on Tuesday February 19! That was Tyler's first day at daycare. Mommy had to pack a bag of extra clothes and bottles/milk, lots and lots of diapers (for the entire week), already made formula in bottles for that day, and a blanket.
The daycare is located near mommy's work, so the new plan is for her to drop him off at 8:00am and pick him up at 5:30pm everyday. But for his first day, both mommy and daddy went.
At the daycare, we met the lady in charge, whose name ironically is also Laurie (spelled the same too!) ... and she showed us what to do and where do go. Tyler's classroom is located in the back corner of the center and is a pretty cool place.
The room consists of 2 main sections partitioned by a low wall. A napping section that has individual cribs for all the different babies and a play/eating section with a whole bunch of stuff. There are many many playmats, swings, bookshelves holding books and toys, a cubby bookshelf, refridgerator, table with highchairs, sink, changing table, rocking chairs ... to name most of the big items.
Tyler has his very own crib and cubby to keep all of this things. His teachers are great. Ms Estella and Ms Katie. They are very easy to talk to and have been great with him so far.
Evey morning mommy fills out the top of a sheet with some key information on his last night's and current morning events. (how he sleep, when he woke up, when he last ate, his mood so far this morning, etc ...) And at the bottom of the sheet, they write down each time he is fed and how much he ate, when he naps and for how long, when he had his diaper change and whether it was #1 ,#2 or both, and his general mood and activities throughout the day.
His did pretty well on his first day. Didn't cry immediately after mommy and daddy left. (some kids do) He was so interested in his new surroundings, we're not even sure he noticed we were gone!
It took a few days for him to get use to his new schedule ... but I think he likes it.
